Boulder, CO

Over Thanksgiving I had the pleasure of spending an entire week in the snow and taking a day trip to one of the cutest little cities nestled in the mountains. Boulder, you rock. (Lol, I can’t resist).

But seriously, Colorado has easily become one of my favorite states! With each new city I visit I just end up falling more in love with the weather, the scenery, the people…. everything. Maybe it’s because I’m a born and raised Florida girl who is absolutely enamored with the concept of a mountain? Maybe it’s because I freaking love snow? Who knows, but I cannot get enough.

I’m pretty sure I’ve passed the Colorado bug on to a few of my friends after an amazing girls trip to Denver this past August. I completely understand the millions of people who decide to move there everyday. I guess I’m just lucky that Frontier offers round trip direct flights for under $100 😏.

But really, just 30 minutes outside of Denver is a GEM of a town. Boulder is home to University of Colorado Boulder which makes it the perfect mix of a hip college town and outdoorsy getaway. There are tons of cool shops on Pearl Street, and seeing historic downtown decorated for Christmas was a real treat! I wish we had more time to wander around and try some more restaurants but honestly I think it was a perfect way to spend the day.

Here are a few of my recommendations if you don’t have a lot of time to explore:

  1. Eat lunch at one of the breweries or restaurants on Pearl Street! We tried Next Door American Eatery and it was absolutely delicious. The prices were great, the food was tasty and the beer just hit the spot after walking around all day. We were a bit too early for happy hour (it starts at 3) but it definitely sounds like something to go back for! Some other places to check out close by are SALT, Riffs Urban Fare, and The Post Brewing Co.!
  2. Drive/walk around University of Colorado Boulder’s campus. This is one of the prettiest campuses I have ever seen! I love the look of the old, historic buildings mixed with a new modern aesthetic. Plus I think the light dusting of snow just makes everything even more beautiful, so maybe I’m a little biased? Regardless, definitely take some time to look around! Austin and I spent 30 minutes just driving around and looking at all of the sorority and fraternity houses haha. Isn’t it funny that you can always tell which ones are fraternities and which ones are sororities based on the condition of this huge house? Idk, boys are messy… there, I said it. (Sorry babe, it’s true).
  3. Pop in some of the local shops #shopsmall. I recently started looking for postcards and/or stickers in every city that I visit. I like to hang them up in my cubicle to remind me of my travels and why I need to keep working a full-time job (to pay for things) 😂. I have found that these local shops are the best place to find them. Plus you’re putting money back into the city, so even better! We visited Art Mart Gifts right across from the big beautiful Courthouse all light up for Christmas. They have pieces from over 300 artists so you know you’re bound to find something!

Please enjoy some pics from our day!
(I especially loved the rainbow crosswalks, what a great surprise!)

Happy holidays!
